I know there were comments by some of the players involved in the scandal that the honor code was not clearly explained to them, a claim has been refuted by other players. In fact prior to the 2004 season, Crowton even boasted about his record with the team and the honor code. Was he as strict as Bronco? No way but the notion that he was advocating a "look the other way" policy with recruits is absurd.
