Last weekend my lawnmower was stolen out of the shed to the side of my house. My son mowed a neighbor's lawn on Friday evening, was in a hurry when he finished, and put the lawnmower away just inside the shed door instead of toward the back where it is usually kept, and didn't lock the shed. Saturday morning when I went to mow our lawn, the mower was gone. Should I have reported the loss? Would you have?

I didn't report it, but last night I heard about other burglaries in the area that the police have been investigating so I thought I should go ahead in case it helped the police in some way. Two officers came to the house just now and took down my information and gave me a case number. I don't expect anything to come from it. Honestly, my main concern was my neighbors who are very good people. I've already had three people come by to check on us after seeing the police car in front of our house.
