BYU can't afford to keep bronco at this point
Things are much different than they were in 2004. BYU is independent and has to be good to be relevant. We have had five years of mediocrity. With next year's home schedule of no BCS teams and very unfamiliar teams ticket sales will be way down. Donors are not going to pay for mediocrity. I know one who was done after last year's bowl game. Was ticked when he felt he put more effort in making out to the bowl game then BYU did in preparing for it.

The P5 ship may have sailed. I think BYU blew it a few years ago. Lots of rumors about that but one thing is certain - BYU did was not nearly as aggressive (or desperate) as Utah and TCU on conference expansion and look where that got them. If there is any hope we have to be strong in football now. No way BYU can spend the next few years in mediocrity

It is more then running a clean program. BYU football has been big business but will not be unless something changes. BYU can't afford not to make a change.

I have been a Broncos camp but he has now lost the team and is about to lose the program. You can't recover from that and there's no sense waiting
