BYU’s performance/relationship with ESPN is becoming my worst fear.
It seemed ESPN at the beginning was in our corner, a willing partner with us as we entered the world of independence. I think ESPN really wanted to see us succeed; it would be good for ESPN, and of course that relationship brought big things to BYU, most importantly exposure. A successful powerful BYU football team brings added viewership, especially if we start knocking good football teams on a regular basis.

If BYU keeps laying rotten eggs, and ESPN becomes disenchanted with the direction we are headed, or the lack thereof, why should they renew the contract at the same level? If they don’t, there goes our exposure, and kiss our recruiting goodbye…
