Some Facebook comments that will make you get even more fired up (re Bronco)
"I've got a friend who played under Edwards and went on to the NFL who told me that at that time Edwards would look the other way a lot and let guys get away with stuff, him included. He said there's no way Bronco would let that stuff fly and consequently he can't recruit the same talent. I know many disagree, but I'd rather go 5-7 and have guys that actually represent the church off the field than 12-0 or 11-1 and have to sweep stuff under the rug. I disagree with him in the article on that point that the best thing BYU football can do is to win games. But at what cost? To be a bunch of hypocrites? That can't and shouldn't be the number one priority. Not worth it and not what BYU football should be about."

and then

"The purpose of the sports programs at BYU are to provide missionary opportunities and to develop well rounded men and women who can be role models and examples for those kids growing up and wanting to play sports at BYU. Yes, winning is great, it makes people feel better, etc. But winning comes in many forms. I never comment about BYU football because BYU fans are so crazy. Bronco is fulfilling what he has been asked to do as the coach of BYU and has had great success on and off the field. BYU fans need to chill out, remember that this is a process and great good will come for all involved."

Someone forgot to tell them that no one cares if you lose. It isn't a missionary opportunity and too expensive of a process to "develop well rounded men". I would actually say it isn't there to develop well rounded men, that is up to them to do just like the rest of us. It's to build a hard working and efficient football team who HAPPEN to follow the honor code. I would dare say it that a winning team will have fewer honor code issues than a losing one because they are working harder and not throwing in the towel. But hey, that's me.
