But Patterson is by far the better head coach. He knows how to hire assistants, how to identify issues and solve them (compare TCU's offense last year to this year), etc.

I really think that is the issue with Bronco. He's a great man and a phenomenal teacher and molder for young men, especially as a coach. His problem, from my cheap seats, is that he is a poor manager and just doesn't have the temperament or personality to be a great head coach.
