What has changed so much since the 90's? Growth of the LDS church is the only thing I can think of. Everyone in the WAC/MWC complained that BYU had such a huge financial advantage, that everyone else was always disadvantaged to compete against them. And the pool of D-1 LDS talent, and those who share the values of BYU, has only increased... and significantly. It's a pathetic clown argument.
