warranty was doubled by the credit card and the projector repair company quoted repairs which exceeded the cost of a replacement.

I therefore had a new projector (thanks credit card warranty!) and also had my old broken projector. I took a chance and bought a new blower fan from eBay and performed 90-minutes of major surgery on my projector last night. I only had 3 screws left over and a few bent parts. My projector had 2 different fans inside - weird.

Result: My old projector is working again! Now I have an extra projector for outdoor movies. Too bad winter is almost here. I think I'll set it up for Halloween night.
