Things I'm Excited About
Guys... This is my FIRST POST. Finally.

Just got around to watching the scrimmage, and there were some encouraging signs:

1. Isaac Nielsen's shooting- Wow he looked FLUID shooting his top of the key three. There are a lot of shooters in the WCC, but not many teams can boast a 5 man that can space he floor. This skill should be a huge weapon assuming Isaac can improve his defensive footwork and stay on the floor.

2. Chase Fischer's all around game- Chase had an off-night shooting (trust me, he is by far the best long range shooter on the team) but we will need his creativity off the bounce this season in the halfcourt. His minutes should be staggered with Collinsworth's so that we always have a pick and roll ballhandler on the court.

3. Corbin Kaufusi's FT shooting- I know he only made 3/6 (I think), but Corbin showed a lot of natural touch on his free throws. He will be a foul magnet and getting him above 70% (maybe too optimistic this year, but down the line) would be fantastic. He was clearly not 100% physically from what I have seen of him before.

4. Anson Winder shooting a mid range shot off the dribble comfortably- Anson will never be a super aggressive scorer, but it was nice to see him show more of an in-between game, while playing his usual composed style.

5. Tyler Haws- Nothing we haven't seen before despite the trimmer look. Actually he got UP on his backdoor dunk.

6. Skyler Halford not shooting- As much as he looks like he should be, Skyler Halford is not a great 3 point shooter. He is very average. But apparently he is smart, because he realizes the only way he will see minutes this season is if he goes after the backup point guard position and passes more than he shoots.

7. Jordan Ellis' confidence- It is nice to know we have have a competent, steady ballhandler available in case of injury.

8. Luke Worthington's activity- I'm not going gaga over Luke's post scoring yet, but it was really nice to see how his fitness has allowed him to become a positive contributor, especially defensively. He has always been very vocal on that end, and, for the most part, found himself in the right place last night. Good job.

9. Toolson/Chatman/Andrus potential- I was pleasantly surprised by Andrus, and Chatman's jumper was WET. Toolson has a simple, standstill shooting motion that actually reminded me of Tavernari's a couple of times. You can tell it goes in more often than not.

FBIV was very disappointing, as was Nixon. I am trying to forget about how good Davis was, because we could really use him this year (especially the first half with Aytes out).

Eager to see the minute distribution as the season progresses.
