And so is our athletic reputation.
One bad FB season doesn't change the FACT that BYU runs a very successful athletic program. I know we're all upset at the events of this past month, and we can't figure out how Bronco couldn't see the defensive collapse happen before it did, and I know we're all frustrated that Bronco hasn't been able to get BYU back into the top 25 and beyond, but let's get a grip. One bad football season, or even a stagnant FB program, doesn't change the strong overall state of the athletic program.

We make more $$ than we spend. Very few programs can claim that.

Our BB program makes regular visits to the NCAA tourney. Yes, 60+ teams every year do it, but there are about 300 D1 basketball programs.

Our FB program goes bowling every year, and we win most of those games. Sure, we all want better, but things could be a LOT worse.

While things could be better, we're pretty darn lucky to have someone like Holmoe in charge. And, believe me, he LOVES the football program, and wants it to succeed at least as much as any of us. He played in the program. It changed his life. And, he has several Super Bowl rings, and was a D1 coach himself (doesn't matter that he wasn't successful, just pointing out that he is a football lifer). He won't let the football program crash and burn. Changes, if needed, will be made, although they probably won't happen as quickly as most around here would like.
