And only 15 yards for a FG and a tie.

Had they taken a safety and kicked off, FSU likely would have had to go more than 40 yards for a FG and the lead. And FSU advancing the ball only 15 yards wouldn't have resulted in any points at all, allowing Louisville to keep the lead (rather than settling for a tie).

I'm not saying I would have done it. But it's not a ridiculous idea.
