I'm not interested in a professional minor league as the future for college
football. Seeing the comment posted here: http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=13222787

I have to agree. I like pro football but not as well as I like college football. I'm not sure why but I just feel that there's a better spirit about college football...that they do what they do for the love of the game and not for a paycheck...that seems to shine out in some way. Maybe also to know that they're not perfect at what they do and there is a reason for it: they're college students and have other responsibilities (at least at most universities that is). Also, for the most part, those in charge of college football are required to keep in mind the "Student" aspect of these players should come first and not football. But if they basically turn into minor league pros, at some point, the student part will be regulated into the background and decisions will become about the money and winning and what's best for those running it. Mmmm...after re-reading that last sentence...are we already there?
