This is the first year in a long time that we haven't had a child in elementary school. So as I drove past the throngs of parents/grandparents filing into the school this morning I felt fortunate that I'm not sentenced to sitting in a crowded, overheated gym for an hour for a 30-second glimpse of my child that I just saw in costume 30 minutes earlier. And I'm spared those awkward moments when a few girls with parents who should know better parade through in their pretend corsets and garters. smh.
Elementary school kids dads, you you have my sympathy this morning.
