Just a reminder that state elections are coming up in Utah. It would be nice if the state electorate - vast majority of who are non-P5 fans - would actually put some heat on their state legislators to have taxpayers and students quit subsidizing P5 athletics. In fact, most grants have to cover "overhead" so why shouldn't some of that P5 money support "overhead" instead of the other way around?
Second, it should be written into state law that P5 schools must vote for expansion to other schools in the state, and cannot support votes for expansion that exclude state schools. Should be a simple way to support the advancement of the teams in the state, and therefore is good for the state. However, unless forced by law, the P5 will always try to block expansion within the state.
So, since Utah is the best state to enact change due to the majority of non-P5 fans, please bring these issues up to the state legislators running for office.
Go Cougs!!!!!!!
