And they are gone.
Only one mishap. One of the Elders decided to do a handstand in the theater during the movie and knocked a speaker off the wall. Why he was doing a handstand I do not know. But being able to sit with 26 missionaries and talk about the gospel for about 30 minutes made everything worthwhile. These young men and women are the future of the Church and I think it will be in good hands. One of them told me he had a 3.7 GPA and 29 ACT and did not get accepted at BYU. That kind of surprised me. Another of the young men was an Elder that was adopted from the Ukraine at age 16. He speaks three languages and his English was excellent. I asked him how he became so proficient in English and he said it was through the power of the Lord.

A number of them had already attended BYU and this is why BYU is so special. I told them they would run into people all their lives that they either knew at BYU or were at BYU the same time they were. It is a special bond that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

As they were all sitting there I kept thinking about my two grandsons. One is currently serving his mission in India and the other is in the MTC preparing to go to Mexico in late November.
