Lance Anderson is the DC for Stanford. He's active LDS, a returned missionary (iirc Bronco isn't), father of 3 and a kick butt Defensive Coordinator. His 2012 defense took Stanford to a Rose Bowl title and had a school record 57 sacks and his 2013 defense faced 7 ranked opponents with some of the craziest and most prolific offenses in the country and he directed them to 44 sacks (5th nationally) and 109 tfls (7th nationally). At our current level of production it'd take more than 2 seasons to accumulate stats like that! They limited opponents to 19 pts per game (10th nationally), 89 yds rushing (3rd) and 343 yds Total Off (16th). When you consider how many great offenses they face each year in the Pac12 and with non-conference opponents they are incredible. That would be a great defense for Bronco any year while facing C-USA, AAC, WAC and MWC teams (who struggle vs everyone else).
Another thing to like about Anderson is he was their recruiting coordinator up through 2011 so he helped build the program through the Harbaugh years into the team it is today. I'd be okay with leaving Bronco in as the HC if we could find the resources to bring in a stud DC like Anderson. He's likely going to be a name that starts coming up in HC coaching vacancy discussions and will likely be starting to field offers. We should put on the full court press now before it's too late and he gets a HC offer somewhere else. In 2 yrs if Bronco decides he's through this guy might not be around any longer.
If every BYU fan on CB donated $100 we could put together a nice offer.
