Brandon Doman's promotion is a good example...
of the avid fans getting it wrong. This is not to excuse the coaches and admin, because they are the ones responsible. That being said, when Robert Anae was invited to find new employment the first time the avid fans had been calling for his removal and Doman's promotion because Anae was too stubborn, he was too predictable, etc. and Doman was the heir apparent. Well, Doman wasn't quite ready and Anae was better than some thought. Doman and Anae were also both victims of a qb recruit who turned out to be a bust.

I guess it should just serve as a cautionary tale for those who are looking for a coaching change right now. The program is not in great shape right now, but it could be far worse. Any coaching change this year would need to be done with caution, especially given next year's schedule. It would not be a good time to be installing a completely new offense for example.

Now, before you go off on me as having my head in the ground, you should note that I did not foreclose the idea of a coaching change, it would just need to be a perfect fit/move to make it work right now IMO.
