disagreements about the current coaching staff and the state of the program. Many BYU fans are fans of the football team and therefore fans of the university. Others are fans of the university and therefore fans of the football team. Both types of fans are wonderful and passionate, but may tend to emphasize different things.

I see no problem with disagreeing about how things are or how they should be. It just might be useful to see where we're all coming from.

Note that there are likely many other types of fans these are just two kinds that stood out to me from recent discussion.
