You have no job security whatsoever. It appears as though he just wants his offense to be the college football equivalent of NFL Trent Dilfer and just manage the game so it can be won by defense and special teams. He wants no risks taken on offense.
I remember watching the '04 Utes and he looked like he was going to have a come apart and go after Urban Meyer, who was his boss, because of a risky Alex Smith pass that almost got intercepted. Imagine the private conversations he has with his OCs now that he's the boss.
