He could just be hung up on the brightness or some setting
Or it could it be the absence of the soap opera effect? Because it makes no sense otherwise, as least as far as I know.
I think my plasma is that same model but 53" and its picture is fantastic. I can't imagine that an older LCD would actually have better image.
