wow, why were your siblings living in the ghetto

California has its issues (mainly cost of living and traffic) but is generally a very nice place to live. There are plenty of neighborhoods with low crime and great schools. In Southern California riverside and Orange counties are decidedly conservative and San Diego is about 50/50.
