Here's my point-by-point response (hopefully rational, but it is early)
Are you ashamed to be chearing for a team that lost to USU, BSU, UCF and Nevada?
- Yeah, it's embarrassing to be cheering for a team that gets embarrassed 4 weeks in a row on TV. We didn't look good at all vs USU, got embarrassed by BSU, and looked very unprepared vs all 4. It wasn't just that we lost, it's HOW we lost in most of those games. We gave up leads, made dumb mistakes, and then crumpled when the other team fought/got ahead.
Are you ashamed of a coach that hired and trusted a DC with no experience?
- Absolutely. It was a bone-headed decision, much like Hill and Doman (though I admittedly thought Doman would do better than he did, I think history should be the strongest teacher). At least Hill and Doman had some playing and previous coaching experience at the D1 level. This last one was horrendous...and with this year's schedule, we had no business messing with a good D-system that had kept us afloat. Show me a similar hire anywhere else at a successful program and I'll be happy to listen. (i.e. from high school to 3 years at D1 to DC)
Are you ashamed that your Coach helps strengthen the testimony of fans in every city they play in and BTW in players who hear the message every road game?
- No. I'm not ashamed of it. I don't care about it, and would like them to keep happening...in the OFF SEASON. It's the FOOTBALL coaches' job to WIN FOOTBALL games.
Are you ashamed that BYU lost 4 games when ESPN was saying they had the best chance to go undefeated?
- I wasn't ashamed by the losses, I was ashamed by what I listed above. We played POORLY against BAD teams and got CRUSHED by the only decent team we lost to.
Are you ashamed because we can't get a real team to play us at home in November?
- No. It sucks but has nothing to do with the bag.
Are you ashamed that BYU is Mediocre?
- Yes. We have a great history and facilities, pretty good recruiting pool, and yet we seem to flounder the same way every year the last 5 years.
Are you ashamed that BYU has taken a back seat to Little Brother up the street and now you think we are going to step back to USU?
- I don't live in Utah and don't care about this. It's just painful to make the comparison to what are supposedly inferior programs and see how much better they do vs. us with less.
Are you ashamed that you have a higher priority for football than your coach?
- Not at all. I stopped watching games and following the team as closely as I used to (posted on this many times previously). I'm happy to say that my fandom is now about 100th on my list. I come to CB for quick updates and political/religious discussion.

Are you doing anything about it? (internet whining not included)
- See above. Decreasing fandom.
Are you a well balanced person?
- I work too much, other than that, yeah.
If you are putting a bag over your head in low times (as to say we don't want to be known as associated) will you also wear the bag in good times? Yeah didn't think so.
- This is an yewt question, if there ever was one. I am a BYU FAN. NOT A BRONCO MENDENHALL PROGRAM FAN. If we lose, it sucks, but I'll stick with the team. Even now in our mediocrity I stick with the team. If we get crushed by a decent opponent and look unprepared and not fired up and fold after going down a couple scores and commit stupid penalties and turnovers with bad game management then YES! The bag stays on. This has been Mendenhall's M.O. since he took over. Blows rivalry games. Loses 1-2 head scratchers a year. Gets upset at fans publically when it it convenient for him. His blue chip recruits hardly ever pan out, no one makes the draft unless they're a singular talent, and we lose out (as we admittedly always have) on great LDS recruits.
Humility comes at a painful price. I'm all for getting it but I think you can become humble and stay respectful.
- I'm respectful. He's a great man. A great counselor. He's helped a bunch of kids make good changes in their lives. He's a great diplomat for the Church...but unfortunately, that's a PART of being a FOOTBALL COACH MAKING OVER A MILLION A YEAR. He himself has set the expectation...it must be humbling to see how far he falls every year, even with a weak schedule like this one.
