Losing Trent Hosick might be the best thing that could happen for our offense
Don't get me wrong, I think Hosick is a great player. He'll be successful somewhere. The problem is that he would lead an offensive system that's unsustainable and problematic for the Cougars. The read-option should never have been installed at BYU. It requires athletes (more than just Taysom) which BYU has difficulty recruiting and it leaves its running QB quarterback vulnerable to injuries. The "dual threat" quarterback model was enchanting to Bronco a few years ago, but reality has caught up now that we've lost our our starting running quarterback to injuries four of the last five years.

We'll see the offensive system we SHOULD BE running on Saturday. It will be run by the Cal Bear offense. Sonny Dyke's version of the Air Raid. It's fun, it's prolific, and it's something that could be sustained by BYU's talent. Here's hoping that Anae brings it back in 2015!
