Say it ain't so, Flanman! Tim Flannery, 3rd base coach for the Giants, retires.
Sad to see him go. Seeing one of the guys round third just won't be the same without Flan going berserk windmilling his arm out of socket. Gonna miss his style, gonna miss his National Anthem trios with The Grateful Dead, gonna miss the enjoyment of the game you could tell he and Bochy brought out in each other.
Such a down-to-earth, unassuming guy. Can't help but admire him. Never had any interest in managing, so he just felt that he'd accomplished everything he'd wanted to, and was setting aside the grind so he could focus on family.
