I think ref under the basket anticipated a foul, chirped his whistle...
and then saw it was clean. Absolutely an unjust outcome...but there was a slight tweet.

I have no problem with them taking the basket away but man, BYU deserved the ball. I guess it was considered impossible for either team to have gotten possession since game play stops at the whistle...which was in the middle of the clean block. By rule, ball goes back to the last team with possession.

Just one of many little breaks that went against BYU...in contrast to the huge breaks given to SDSU in the first overtime last night. BYU did not catch a lot of breaks at the end of either loss. SDSU was larceny. Purdue...just a subtle thumb on the scale that tipped the balance. Not blaming the refs against Purdue. It wasn't egregious...they just got a few more fortunate calls. Against SDSU, they stole the game in the first overtime.
