When I was growing up, it somehow became known that, if you didn't have
somewhere to go for Thanksgiving, you could go to the McNertney house. We usually had 10-15 relatives and about that many unrelated people. One year, we ended up with 66 people crammed into my parents' house (my dad was serving as a Bishop of a singles ward that year).

Sometimes it was fun, sometimes it sucked. It definitely made it feel more like a party, though.
