My mom was so pissed she made another Thanksgiving dinner a day or two later. It was just so different than what we were used to (up until that year, we lived by my moms family). She was pretty disgusted by the "ward activity" feel of it all. I was 13 or 14 and just knew I got 2 turkey dinners in the same week - I didn't mind either one but the one at the church seemed pretty impersonal but it's largely because we really didn't know that side of the family at all because we had never been around them.
