Whenever there are riots somewhere else, trouble immediately erupts in Oakland. The Occupy Wall Street was out of control there.

Since the Fruitvale shooting, there is almost no BART police visibility. I am sure they are there in plain clothes, but the Oakland stations are not fun (add Concord to that list as well). I have been on BART several times when we have cruised right through a station or stopped short of one because the police have it on lock down. Too bad for BART, the operations headquarters and the heart of their network is Oakland.
