So far, BYU has been able to force the game's tempo
In past seasons if teams didn't want to run with BYU, the game slowed down and BYU couldn't impose their will on the opponent.

But this year, BYU is shooting the ball well - from the floor, from three and from the line - that teams aren't stopping BYU from scoring often enough to allow them to slow the game.

The Cougars are also doing a great job of rebounding the basketball. They're +8.4 rebounds per game. And they're getting more than 3 more offensive rebounds than their opponents which is both leading to additional possessions and limiting second shots for opponents as well.

Teams don't want to run with BYU, but the Cougars aren't giving them the option not too. BYU is scoring soo efficiently that team's only chance is to try to outscore them.
