Bronco doesn't seem to value winning enough to bring in good assistants or fix mistakes.
Mendenhall is a good enough recruiter and coach to produce teams with winning records, but he either isn't committed to being great or is simply incapable of overcoming some serious issues.
His choices for assistant coaches have been awful. He has made some significant recruiting blunders that have handicapped the team with lack of depth at important positions, like quarterback.
Finally, he has made some laughable personnel decisions like starting Riley Nelson and sticking with him, even when he was seriously injured.
I think I could change my mind about Bronco if he did something dynamic, like fire Howell for his atrocious performance, and hire a successful defensive coordinator that would bring both talent and excitement to the table.
