When you first begin you won't know the difference between utah and wa
Snow. It makes no difference and to be honest there is a difference when you are better but utah snow isn't always better than snow in other areas. You'd be hard pressed to find a resort better than my hood or grand targhee.
Try a cheap place like white pass or bluewood or something when beginning.
