they used to pay people out for vacation but the abuse of the system was really

bad. People would put in 80 hours one week (not value added), basically just take the laptop home and claim working on stuff and then take the entire next week off and not use vacation and get paid out at the end of the year.

like anything, some idiots ruin it for everyone else.
