When you get to that level of your profession the dollars and cents are more of
a badge of pride than anything else. There are some coaches who have in their contract that they need to be the highest paid coach in their league. From an ego standpoint alone he might take that offer.
I think he should. He was able to turn Stanford into a perennial power. No reason he can't do the same at Michigan. I would love to see the B1G be a competitive conference again.
