Martzen and staff (especially 2j) have been getting some huge props regarding getting some very highly recruited HS players (the Stanford de commit from last year comes to mind as well as Longson this year). While there is a lot of praise for those and others, there are posts that are the complete opposite. Ie- how poorly BYU recruited Empey and how he will probably end up at Utah. The situations with Reid and Covey, etc.

So which is it? It sure seems to depend on the day to indicate whether BYU is good or bad at recruiting.
