One thing I'm really liking about BYU's recruiting in Texas...
The kids that BYU are offering in Texas are great athletes, but aside from that, they're very good students. I think this should be a huge point of emphasis when recruiting.

Trevor Brent, for example, has an offer from Yale; Micah Simon has one from Cornell. Both have very high GPAs and care a lot about the education that they'll be getting.

Though Trevor Brent has an offer from Boise St., he says that BYU is at the top of his list because it satisfies both (1) his desire for a great education (which BSU doesn't offer) and (2) a great football program (which Yale doesn't offer).

I also think that the adjustment to BYU life isn't probably quite as hard for non-LDS kids that are here for more than just the football.
