He can't be everywhere at once. Every group he coaches seems to get noticeably better. This year, it was the offense and in particular the offensive line - and it seemed to work given the fact that they did OK even while starting 2 freshmen. If he had decided to stick to defense, we'd be hearing the same arguments about the offensive side of the ball.
