were the difference maker, I thought. The Penn State back row handled so many attacks with ease that were automatic points against Texas. It simply gave Penn State enough opportunities to maintain a manageable lead in the first set, and to being themselves back in the second.
I feel for our girls. Nobody quit in the 3rd, but they did get SO tight after losing the second set, knowing how close they were to it, and knowing that it was their only shot at this team, that they simply couldn't hold it together. Talk about a gut check. A couple bounces go BYU's way in the second, its a whole new match.
I was especially proud of Boswell. She held it together during a stretch where nobody else was doing anything. She'll have a great career on this team.
So many superlatives can be given to Hamson. Wow. It was tough to see her have one of "those" nights with unforced errors, where a couple points on serves would have tied it up. She had to be feeling pressure with the defense keying specifically in on keeping her off a third hit.
Well done, ladies. Moral victories suck, but you've taken your program somewhere it's never been before. Congratulations. Here's to hoping a few more BYU programs will follow suit.
