Could Utah ever go independent? No....there is no value in the University of Utah sports program by itself that would warrant it's own TV contract. Actually maybe they could get a deal with KJZZ for their own home games covering the two county area. Utah must live in the shadows of USC, UCLA and Oregon in order to survive as a program. Heck we drug them around behind us for years as well....they are just another little sister program whether it was in the WAC, MWC or now PAC12

Could the University of Washington ever go independent? Maybe...but ESPN would never give them a TV contract since they are regional. Maybe they could get a deal with Root Sports who deals in the Northwest.

Can BYU go independent? Yes....because of the tradition, the fan base and width and depth of the fan base ESPN has given us our own TV contract. BYU is a bigger and more lucrative sports program then the University of Utah. BYU did not get passed up by the PAC12 for Utah because they were somehow a better program. And as the flagship university for the LDS church we can not apologize for our standards to the PAC12 schools.

BYU is a big time program, I know it, the fans know it and national sports media know it as well. The only place that seems to doubt this is Cougarboard because of the Utah fans......open Utah fans and Utah fans disguised as BYU fans (Domanator, WhyOWhy).

*When you see a supposed "BYU fan" dissing the program click on their profile and read their last 10 posts. You'll know right then and there who they really are....Ute fan in disguise. They have really caused a number on this board with their weird obsession with BYU sports.
