The recent omission of Baylor and TCU from the inaugural College Football Playoff has the Big 12 re-examining its 10-school format, and BYU remains by far the best brand available for expansion. Geographically? No. Culturally? Who knows. But a ready-made football program that puts people in its seats and draws viewers to its telecasts and beats its share of heavyweights? Absolutely.
