somehow affects what happens at BYU. Sure, I guess I can understand why you ask "they can do it, why can't we?" but they really are unrelated. Yes, there can be some lessons learned, but there can be lessons learned from every university, like what lessons can we learn from Nebraska firing a 70%+ winning coach? What lessons can be learned from hiring someone directly from a coordinator position into a HC position with no prior HC experience (see BYU and Lavell Edwards, see BYU and Bronco Mendenhall, see UofU and Kyle Whittingham, see Utah State and Matt Wells, etc). IOW, you might find similarities in most comparisons, but those don't necessarily mean you will find the correct answer and the complete solution to any problem based on any single comparison.
