I am not judging the guys for fighting one way or another other than to say that BYU is like everyone else. We like to pretend we are different. We like to pretend the BYU football team is a kind of missionary tool. The reality is that our team is not that different after all and any missionary effort by this team is undercut by the fact that 8-4 (the regular season record the last 3 years) is very mediocre. And most NCAA football fans do not pay any attention to 8-4 teams except their own.

I would like a back-to-basics approach. No "we are special" events. No firesides. No slogans. Just work hard. And focus on discipline. I don't think I saw a single BYU game this year without at least one personal foul.
