Losing stinks but a win would have changed nothing….
except it would have been a nice gift to some of the seniors. It was still a good game and it's too bad that a stupid fight ensued when it was over.

BYU doesn't have great coaching and this is and has been evident for some time. With Bronco at the helm this is never going to change. Bronco can make BYU a top 10 G5 team every season and this is his ceiling and that is never going to change. But from a national perspective BYU really hasn't been better than about 40th since Hall graduated. Instead BYU is annually somewhere between 40-70 any given week.

On the one hand, BYU did well considering they started a backup for 2/3 of the season that was really a nobody. We all like Christian and I hoped they'd win mostly because I think it would have been a feel good story but in the end, it didn't happen.

On the other hand, the lack of blitzing and 3 man rushes and playing guys in coverage that have no business covering a WR are problems that I doubt will ever be addressed while Bronco is the coach. The dude is as stubborn as his name and he obviously is not going to change his philosophies.

Bronco is just a weird duck. His celebration after the Cal game would have any normal college football fan scratching their head but to Cougar fans it should only be a sign of a coach that is overly sensitive yet at the same time convinced to win "his" way. I don't criticize the church-related things as this is what BYU stands for. My issues have always been with Bronco the football coach not Bronco the person.

Welcome to the off-season and expect fans once again to continue to drink the kook-aid, especially as more time goes by, but the reality is to expect more of the same.
