Now it makes him look even worse seeing the story behind it. The Zag fan was there with his two young boys both under age 8. Our fan was yelling about Zags #24 being big and ugly several times. The Zag fan turned around and told him "hey, he's my sons favorite player. Don't be talking like that."
Our fan then yells at him "oh yeah well I'm going to talk crap about your boys next!" Wow, big man can make fun of little boys? Somebody never grew up. The Zag fan stands up and turns around and says "you're not going to make fun of my boys" in a warning tone of voice. I don't blame the Zag fan, I'd defend my kids too if someone was acting that way.
The Byu fan occasionally still went on about the player the whole game knowing the young boys liked #24. How immature can you get?
I went up to the Zag fan after the game to assure him we were embarrassed by that fan and weren't all idiots like that. Guy was just there cheering on his team and wanting to have a good time with his boys. He said he had a short temper and maybe should have ignored it but I told him "nah that guy was an idiot, I was about to turn around to tell him to shut up myself. I was hoping you'd deck him one"
It was kinda weird he wanted give me a side arm hug after I talked to him, I never hug strangers and I'm not sure what that was about but that was just kinda a cool moment after the game I guess he appreciated someone standing up for him or something.
We all could be a little more kind, even in sporting events and rivalries. And some of us could act less like idiots like that dude.
