I watched it also, the decision to nuke is at best a 51% yes in hindsight. The

US was literally terrified at the very real thought of being occupied by Japan and Germany. At one point early in the war there were even rumors that Japan had made it to Chicago. The fear was real and info was not communicated like it is today, the bomb was the best option at the time.
