FWIW, Pepperdine is better than Pitt, Penn State, and Creighton, UMass, UNLV;
and USD is better DePaul, Florida State, Missouri, ST Joe's, Cal and USC.
All according to Pomeroy, whose system has gone farther towards achieving objectivity than others.
Pomeroy also ranks the WCC 7th, ahead of the Atlantic 10 (8th), and far ahead, from top to bottom, of the MWC which has fallen to 12th best conference.
The blind here won't admit it, but the WCC is much, much stronger now than the MWC.
USD is a very tough team to beat on their home floor and will likely go into the St Mary's game the favorite.
