Top Talent in Utah going elsewhere
With Osa Masina committing to USC I got thinking about the the future of instate recruiting. I think we will continue to lose more and more legacy recruits and top LDS and instate talent. There are now 3 big time coaches at elite programs that are both familiar and experienced with the talent and culture of Utah and LDS athletes. Sarkisian, Urban Meyer, and Gary Anderson will make things really hard for BYU recruiting. It also doesn't help that BYU hasn't done anything significant in these kids lifetime. If BYU can't get a foothold in the new landscape and either get invited to the table or become relevant as an Independent, I think the program will continue to struggle. BYU NEEDS to land top LDS athletes, especially those in Utah, to stay competitive.
