On Celebrity (member of the RCCL family) many have their sodas confiscated
and they get called to the "naughty room" to be told that their sodas will be held until the end of the cruise.
They will x-ray your luggage, and some will get away with it but many won't.
Like Superkid suggested, I would budget a soft drink package into the vacation and play by the rules.
