Mike would have welcomed BYU giving his son a look. The problem is they wsited waaaay to long. James has been getting looks from everyone sibce his soph year, except for BYU. By the time they did start noticing, Utah had been giving him attention for a while.

Katoa didn't get any attention at all from BYU until really late. The only school giving him attention until this winter was Utah State.

There was a perception I picked up from players, parents and coaches (at least at AFHS) BYU doesn't care about local kids.
