good to know BYU is only for perfect people. (I kid mostly)
I am probably in the minority on this but I wish our program was ok with taking chances on kids that want BYU. If a kid has struggles but still wants BYU and is willing to try to live the honor code I say let them come, if they make mistakes, put your arm around them and use it as a teaching moment and give kids another chance. Kyle Van Noy had his issues but BYU was a great foundation for him. Spencer Hadley made mistakes and overcame them, Brandon Davies etc. I guess I wish the honor code was more about building kids than punishing them.

I'm not super opinionated on this, it just doesn't sit well with me I guess when we decide a kid "isn't right for BYU". I say if the kid wants BYU and can get an ecclesiastical endorsement by a bishop then why should he be turned awayaway? (Assuming said player would deserve a scholly on his football merits as well)

I know very little about porter, but I will assume he's a good kid that will be successful wherever he goes including BYU.
