I learned that relying on personal equipment provided by the families is risky.
If you have good quality equipment for every boy and someone that knows how to work on them, that's one thing. My experience has been that some kids have the good stuff and many kids have a Huffy from Walmart with streamers on the grips. Maintaining the equipment over the high adventure can be a nightmare.
